Literature Text

I plunged my face into my pillow, muttering incomprehensible words while wetting the fabric with tears. Why am I so useless…? Why do I even have a life…? While I was sniffling into my pillow, I heard the resident ghost speak. “Hey, Spencer, I found this amazing horror movie that— Spencer, are you alright?”

I sighed as I turned my head away from the pillow. When Billy saw why I buried my face in the pillow, he gasped and covered his mouth, resisting the will to laugh at my face. “Brometheus, there’s a little something on your face…”

He pulled out a mirror from his back pocket and slowly gave it to me. I shrugged as I grabbed the mirror and stared at my hideous reflection. Billy was right about the part that I had something on my face. But it wasn’t little; it was a massive something on my face. A bluish-purple discoloration surrounded my right eye. The left corner of my lips was bruised, and dried blood stained the skin below my nose. I angled the mirror down a bit to take view of my sore neck, which had been held tightly against the wall.

I sighed and buried my head in the pillow, making me wince from the pain of the impact of the sudden dive.

“Uh, bro, are you OK?” he asked, suddenly concerned.

I noticed how incredibly stupid my friend was. “Oh, I’m feeling great, Captain Obvious.”

“Um… Do you want to go to the WiFri or call Shanilla and Rajeev?”

Huh. Who needs those two traitors? “I don’t have friends.”

“Spence, what happened?”

“Thank you for the concern, but I don’t have friends, not even you.”

Billy floated towards me and crossed his arms. “Come on, Broseph! How would I know what happened if I don’t even know?”

I yelled at him, not caring if my parents would hear me. “Oh, well then, you should have helped me earlier when I was getting a total beat down!”

He forgot. “What do you mean— Oh, sorry dude! I just soiled my hair a little bit, so I had to go to the bathroom to fix—

“Billy, have you ever cared about someone else rather than yourself? You’re such a self-centered bastard!” I shouted into my pillow, muffling my voice.

He gasped and yelled back. “I dare you to say that to me again you…!”

“But what; you leave me on the school’s corners while Kleet and his friends decided to take advantage of my body while I struggled because you just want to fix your hair?”

I gripped the corners of the pillow harder, clenching my teeth with each excuse of the ghost.

“Shut up! It’s going to change nothing. I am never going back to that school, and I am never going to go back to this house once I end all of this.” I said angrily, standing up and jumping off my bed, approaching the balcony.

Billy didn’t understand at first what I meant, but after I perched myself on top of the guardrails, he flew up towards me. “Whoa, what are you doing?”

“What do you think? I’m ending this, like I said.”

Before I could even slip out one foot, he wrapped his arms around me and carried me to my bed.

“Dude… Look, I’m sorry for not backing you up while Kleet tried to… Uh, you know, take advantage of your body. I care for you, you know that.”

I shut my eyes and turned my head away from him. “If you do, you should show it, not just announce that you care so you could fade your guilt away!”

He laid his fingers onto my chin and turned my head towards his. “Well, if I could get you to snap out of your crazy hell, I would do anything.”

Unexpectedly, he leaned his face towards mine and locked our lips together in a full kiss. His tongue attempted to invade my mouth but I kept it shut, not wanting to get him all stirred. Even though he was a ghost, his lips were still warm, and they tasted like fresh peanut butter. Typical for the ghost. I broke the kiss, gasping for air while a string of saliva hung between our mouths.

“What the—!

Before I could complete my statement, he rested his chin on my neck and started licking and nipping at it like a playful (dangerous) kitten while running his fingers over my brown hair. “I’m trying to make you feel better.” He purred into my ear.

“Wait, Billy—!

Before I could even sit up, he crept his hand towards my butt, making me squeak.  I can’t take it anymore, I sat up while gasping. “Billy… You don’t have to do that!”

He frowned. “But I was trying to make you feel better…”

I chuckled and hugged him, burying my face in his chest. “You made my day, Billy.”

I looked up and saw his expression. He was blushing…? I broke the hug and pinched his cheek, snapping him out of his dream or whatever he was occupied in, and winced. “Huh-what…?”

I rested my elbow on his shoulder and looked him in the eye. “Don’t get the wrong idea!”

He scratched the back of his neck nervously. “Uh, yeah, Broseph, nothing wrong here! Hehehe.”

He rubbed the corner of my bruised eye and smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ll get ya fixed.”

I touched his hand and smiled back. Even though the whole world turns its back on me, there is always one person reaching out for me. And it made me feel happy.

I thought of another version of this except with a different ending. Just the same first part with Spencer getting beaten by Kleet and Billy not helping him cause he had to go fix his hair, you know. Um anyway...I was wondering if maybe i could write it and post it? I could link it to you when I'm done if you want.
